All Breed Rescue and Referral Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to animal care and protection. Our goal is to promote responsible animal ownership and to assume those responsibilities when others are unable or unwilling to do so.
Please take time in choosing a pet. Take into consideration the cost of food and health care as well as the time you have available to spend with your new companion. Consider the needs of the animal as well as your own. We may request that you take a 24-hour thought period to carefully consider the advantages and disadvantages of pet ownership.
Pets are confused by drastic changes in their homes, lifestyles, etc. Their habits may change with each new owner. PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 30 DAYS FOR ANY ANIMAL TO ADJUST TO A NEW HOME. You are new to the animal and they are not sure where they are or how long they will be there. If you cannot provide a lifetime home for a pet, do not adopt it!
Animals need companionship and supervision. Dogs need to be secured to prevent them from becoming a free-roaming nuisance to the community. Chained dogs are often barkers, diggers and easy targets for other dogs and pranksters. Fenced yards are recommended. All pets need a loving, secure home with proper food, water, shelter, exercise and medical care provided.
We can assist you in selecting the right pet. Please ask us about pet selection. We are also available to assist you with any questions or problems you may have concerning your companion and we encourage you to contact us.
Placing animals in new homes is a responsibility we take seriously. Our adoption program includes an application form and contract. All persons interested in adopting a pet from us must read and complete the forms. A non-refundable donation is required at the time of adoption to enable us continue our efforts in helping other animals.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption of an animal to a home that does not meet these or other standards (be sure to read a copy of our "Standards of Adoption"). This includes the right to inspect homes and remove the animal if it is not receiving proper care or has been mistreated.
All Breed Rescue & Referral Inc. is not affiliated with the Montgomery County Animal Shelter or the Humane Society. We receive no funding from the federal, state, or county governments, nor from any corporate entity, not even the American SPCA or the United States Humane Society. We are funded completely by individual donations.
We are an all-volunteer organization. There are no paid staff positions at All Breed Rescue and Referral. We are also a 501c3 non-profit organization. All funds go directly to helping the animals by providing food, shelter, spay/neuters, vetting and medication. If you can find it in your heart and budget to make a monetary donation to All Breed, no matter how small, it will help the animals tremendously. If you would like to donate in other ways, we are always in need of volunteers and foster homes. We also have a Wish List of items that we need in our day to day operations.
